A distressed serif with thin strokes and visibly irregular contours, as if drawn with a dry pen or printed from worn type. Terminals are sharp and slightly hooked, while curves (C, O, G, S) show a broken, wavering outline that creates a subtle, vibrating edge. Counters are generally open and legible, but the texture introduces jitter in joins and serifs; diagonals and verticals vary in thickness in a hand-inked way. The overall rhythm is narrow and compact, with modest spacing and a slightly uneven baseline feel that reads more organic than mechanical.

Works best for display and short text where the rough edges can be appreciated: horror or mystery titles, Halloween promotions, ominous chapter heads, in-world artifacts for games, and themed signage. In longer passages it remains readable, but the distressed contouring is most effective at larger sizes where the texture doesn’t collapse.

The texture and pinched, thorny serifs give an ominous, old-world mood—like aged parchment, arcane notes, or a weathered bookplate. It suggests tension and unease without resorting to extreme novelty shapes, making it feel more like “found” historical type than a cartoon effect.

Designed to evoke a spooky, antiquarian voice by combining a traditional serif skeleton with deliberate degradation—uneven edges, scratchy terminals, and ink-worn contours—so the type feels aged, haunted, and handcrafted rather than cleanly set.

Uppercase forms are relatively classical in structure but intentionally degraded at the edges; lowercase maintains the same distressed treatment with simple, bookish shapes. Numerals follow the same worn outline and remain recognizable, with the 8 and 9 showing pronounced roughness around bowls. The font’s character comes primarily from the consistent edge erosion and sharp serif tips rather than exaggerated drips or heavy ornament.
