This typeface is a high-contrast serif with sharp, tapered hairlines and fuller vertical stems, creating a crisp, polished texture on the page. Serifs are bracketed and relatively fine, with pointed terminals and neatly modulated joins that read as carefully drawn rather than rugged. Capitals are stately and slightly narrow in feel, with ample inner counters (notably in C, O, and G) and a controlled, calligraphic stress. The lowercase shows a traditional book face structure with compact, rounded bowls, a two-storey a, and a two-storey g featuring a small upper bowl and a more generous lower loop; the overall rhythm is even and text-focused. Numerals follow the same elegant modulation, with thin crossbars and pronounced thick–thin transitions that suit display sizes and well-set text alike.

It is well suited to editorial typography such as books, magazines, and long-form reading where a classic serif texture is desired. The strong contrast and refined detailing also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, invitations, and other formal communication where elegance and tradition are appropriate.

The overall tone is classic and cultivated, evoking traditional publishing and formal stationery. Its sharp contrast and finely finished details convey sophistication and seriousness, with a calm, literary voice rather than a playful or industrial one.

The design appears intended as a conventional, text-oriented serif with elevated contrast and finely shaped detailing, balancing readability with a distinctly refined, premium finish for editorial and formal applications.

At larger sizes the delicate hairlines and pointed terminals become a defining feature, lending a sparkling, engraved quality. In paragraph settings the face maintains a composed, bookish color, with clear differentiation between similar forms (such as I, J, and l) aided by serifing and proportion.
