A rough, hand-drawn serif with brushy, broken strokes and visibly irregular contours. Terminals often taper to sharp points or fray into dry-brush textures, creating a lively, uneven rhythm. Letterforms mix gentle curves with angular joins, and proportions vary from glyph to glyph, reinforcing an imperfect, handmade feel. Counters are generally open and legible, while stroke edges show consistent abrasion that reads like distressed ink on paper.

Best suited to display settings where texture and character are desirable—titles, posters, short slogans, and packaging labels. It also works well for themed applications such as fantasy or horror-adjacent UI headlines, chapter openers, and event branding, but is less appropriate for long body copy where the rough edges could fatigue the eye.

The overall tone is earthy and slightly ominous, evoking folklore, spellbook headings, and weathered signage. Its scratchy texture and uneven cadence suggest something crafted by hand rather than mechanically set, giving it a dramatic, story-driven personality.

The design appears intended to deliver a distressed, hand-inked look with a controlled level of legibility, combining serif-like structure with expressive brush wear. Its primary goal is atmosphere: to make text feel aged, handmade, and narratively charged rather than neutral or purely functional.

The uppercase set tends to feel more expressive and jagged, while the lowercase is simpler and more compact, with single-storey forms (notably a and g) that emphasize an informal, handwritten model. Numerals follow the same distressed treatment, with occasional asymmetry and tapering that keeps the texture consistent across mixed text.
