A conventional serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp hairlines, showing a steady vertical stress and carefully bracketed serifs. Capitals are stately and relatively wide, with ample interior space; rounds (C, O, Q) are smooth and controlled, and the Q uses a modest, downward tail. Lowercase follows a familiar book-face pattern with clear two-storey a and g, a compact, sturdy r, and open, readable counters in c and e. Numerals are proportional and oldstyle-leaning in feel, with gentle curves and serifed terminals that match the text rhythm.

It is well suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts, where its familiar shapes and clear counters support comfortable scanning. It also fits reports, academic or institutional materials, and other content that benefits from a traditional serif voice, with enough refinement to work for headlines and pull quotes at larger sizes.

The overall tone is traditional and composed, conveying a dependable, bookish seriousness. Its contrast and refined terminals add a touch of formality, making it feel at home in established, institutional, or literary settings rather than casual or playful contexts.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif that prioritizes readability and typographic tradition. Its measured proportions, bracketed serifs, and disciplined rhythm suggest a goal of reliable performance in continuous text while retaining a polished, classical finish.

In text, the font maintains an even color despite the contrast, aided by generous counters and well-spaced forms. Serifs remain discreet and functional, and the punctuation and ampersand carry the same restrained, classic detailing seen in the letters.
