A high-contrast serif with sharply tapered hairlines and weighty vertical stems, producing a crisp, engraved-like rhythm. Serifs are bracketed and slightly flared, with pointed terminals showing up on letters like C, G, S, and the diagonals of V/W. The proportions read generously wide, with open counters and steady spacing that keeps the texture even in paragraph settings. Numerals and capitals follow the same formal construction, with strong thick–thin transitions and clean, upright geometry.

Well-suited to book and long-form editorial typography where a traditional serif color is desired, and it can also deliver elegant impact in headings, pull quotes, and title treatments. Its wide set and crisp contrast make it especially effective in print-oriented layouts and refined brand systems that want a classic typographic signature.

The overall tone is formal and traditional, with a confident, bookish presence. Its sharp serifs and pronounced contrast lend an elevated, editorial feel—more refined and ceremonial than casual—suggesting heritage, institutions, and polished publishing.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, literature-forward serif with pronounced contrast and crisp finishing, balancing readable, familiar forms with a more sculpted, display-leaning sharpness. It emphasizes elegance and authority while maintaining a steady, composed text rhythm.

The lowercase includes a two-storey g with a compact ear and a classic two-storey a, reinforcing a conventional text-serif voice. Joins and curves are tightly controlled, and the sharp finishing on terminals adds sparkle at larger sizes while remaining structured in continuous text.
