An italic slab serif with sturdy, square-shouldered serifs and a consistent, low-contrast stroke weight. The letterforms lean with a smooth, continuous rhythm, showing calligraphic influence in the curved joins and the gently tapered entry/exit strokes. Capitals are broad and steady with pronounced slab feet, while lowercase forms are compact and readable with a moderate x-height, clear counters, and a single-storey italic “a.” Figures follow the same slanted, sturdy construction, with open shapes and straightforward terminals that keep the texture even in text.

Well suited to editorial typography where an italic is used prominently—introductions, pull quotes, captions, and emphasized passages in books or magazines. The sturdy slab serifs and even color also make it a good choice for academic and literary layouts that need a traditional italic with strong presence.

The overall tone feels editorial and bookish—serious, composed, and slightly formal. Its italic movement adds warmth and emphasis without turning decorative, lending a confident, classical voice suited to long-form reading and institutional contexts.

The design appears intended to provide a robust, highly legible italic companion with the authority of slab serifs and the flow of a traditional italic hand. It balances emphasis and readability, aiming for a dependable text voice that still feels expressive in display settings.

The design maintains a stable baseline presence despite the slant, and the slab detailing gives paragraphs a firm, anchored texture. In larger sizes, the crisp serif blocks and italic curves become more expressive, while at text sizes the low contrast helps preserve clarity.
