A serif typeface with sturdy, slab-like terminals and gently bracketed joins that soften the blockiness of the serifs. Stems are confident and fairly even, with a modest thick–thin modulation that shows most clearly in rounds and diagonal strokes. Proportions feel traditional and slightly condensed in the capitals, while lowercase forms stay compact and sturdy, with clear, ball-like terminals in places (notably on the two-storey “a”) and a pronounced, angled tail on “Q.” Numerals follow the same sturdy rhythm, with open counters and strong horizontal feet that keep figures stable in text.

Well-suited to book and long-form editorial settings where a stable, traditional serif texture is desired. It can also serve confidently in headlines and pull quotes, and it fits academic, legal, or institutional branding where a dependable, classic tone matters.

The overall tone reads as classic and institutional, with an academic, editorial voice. Its slab details add a grounded, dependable feel, while the moderate contrast and traditional proportions keep it formal rather than overtly industrial or playful.

The design appears aimed at delivering a traditional reading experience with added firmness from slab-like serifs, balancing authority with comfortable legibility. It prioritizes a steady text color and recognizable, time-tested letterforms that hold up in both paragraphs and display sizes.

Capital forms present a composed, inscription-like presence with broad serifs and restrained curvature, giving headings a steady rhythm. In text, the sturdy serifs create a strong baseline and consistent texture, helping words feel anchored and deliberate.
