This is a high-contrast italic serif with a distinctly calligraphic, oldstyle backbone. Strokes show a pronounced thick–thin rhythm and angled stress, with tapered entry and exit strokes and smoothly bracketed serifs. Proportions feel moderately wide with generous curves and open counters; ascenders are tall and the italic slant is steady and consistent. The lowercase includes a single-storey “a” and “g” with flowing tails, while capitals are refined and slightly swashy without becoming decorative, maintaining a clean text-font rhythm.

Well-suited for editorial and long-form typography where italics are needed for emphasis, citations, titles, or captions. It also works effectively in refined display settings—such as pull quotes, headings, and invitation-style copy—where a classic italic voice is desired.

The overall tone is classic and literary, with an elegant, cultivated feel associated with book italics and traditional publishing. It reads as formal and composed rather than playful, adding a sense of ceremony and emphasis when used in running text.

The design appears intended as a conventional text companion italic: maintaining readability and even color while providing a graceful, tradition-forward emphasis. Its controlled slant, bracketed serifs, and calligraphic modulation suggest an aim for timeless sophistication in publishing-oriented work.

Spacing appears comfortably open for an italic, helping prevent dark patches despite the strong contrast. Numerals follow the same italic, high-contrast treatment, blending naturally with text and maintaining a dignified, traditional texture.
