A tightly condensed serif with a strongly vertical stance and compact proportions. Strokes show clear thick–thin modulation with crisp, bracketed serifs and tapered terminals that give the letters a sharp, engraved feel. The capitals are tall and narrow with pointed apexes (notably in A and V/W), while the lowercase maintains a moderate x-height with relatively long ascenders and descenders, producing an elegant, high-waisted rhythm. Curves are controlled and slightly pinched at joins, and overall spacing reads compact, favoring a dense, columnar color in text.

Well-suited to editorial typography where space efficiency and a classic voice matter, such as book jackets, magazine headlines, pull quotes, and formal posters. It can also serve refined branding needs where a condensed serif can signal tradition and authority, especially in logotypes or packaging that benefits from tall, elegant letterforms.

The font conveys a traditional, bookish tone with an editorial seriousness. Its narrow, upright presence and fine detailing feel authoritative and classic, suggesting heritage publishing and formal communication rather than casual or playful use.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice in a space-saving, condensed format, pairing classical detailing with a firm vertical rhythm. It prioritizes a refined, print-like texture and strong typographic presence for headlines and dense editorial settings.

In the sample text, the condensed width and vertical stress create a strong, continuous texture that holds up well at display-to-text sizes, though the tight forms emphasize careful typesetting and line spacing. Numerals follow the same condensed, high-contrast logic, with a distinctly narrow “1” and compact bowls in “8/9.”
