A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and generous horizontal proportions. The serifs read as bracketed with wedge-like, beaked shapes, and many strokes end in sharp, tapered terminals that give the outlines a carved, slightly calligraphic edge. Counters are compact relative to the heavy outer forms, producing a dense color on the page, while the lowercase shows traditional proportions with distinct ascenders/descenders and a two-storey a and g. Overall spacing feels open laterally, supporting the wide set without crowding in text.

Best suited to display and editorial settings where its dense color and sculpted serifs can be appreciated—headlines, subheads, pull quotes, book jackets, and mastheads. It can also serve for short-form body copy in print-like layouts, particularly when a traditional, authoritative voice is desired.

The face conveys a classic, institutional tone with a confident, slightly dramatic presence. Its high-contrast shaping and sharp terminals add a sense of ceremony and gravitas, making it feel suited to established, literary contexts rather than casual everyday UI.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional text-serif foundation with extra width, pronounced contrast, and sharply articulated terminals to increase presence at larger sizes. Its emphasis on sculpted details suggests it was drawn to project authority and elegance while maintaining familiar, readable letterforms.

In the sample text, the heavy serifs and tapered joins create strong horizontal emphasis and a rhythmic, slightly angular texture across lines. Numerals follow the same sculpted, serifed logic and appear designed to sit comfortably alongside the capitals and lowercase without looking purely tabular.
