This typeface is a compact serif with sturdy verticals and subtly sculpted, flared stroke endings that read as bracketed, wedge-like serifs rather than slabs. Curves are taut and controlled, with a clear calligraphic undercurrent: strokes taper into terminals and joins, and counters stay relatively tight, creating a dense texture. Capitals feel stately and slightly condensed, with crisp apexes and pronounced wedge forms (notably in A, V, W, and Y). The lowercase keeps a traditional structure with a double-storey a and g, a relatively small e aperture, and short, firm ascenders and descenders that reinforce an economical rhythm. Numerals are robust and evenly weighted, with classic proportions and clear differentiation in forms like 2, 3, and 7.

It performs well in headlines and display settings where its flared serifs and compact proportions can create a strong, classic presence. It also suits editorial applications—magazine headings, book titles, and pull quotes—especially when a dense, authoritative texture is desired. For longer passages, it benefits from generous leading and thoughtful spacing to keep the compact counters comfortable.

The overall tone is traditional and serious, with an editorial gravitas that suggests print-centric refinement. Its compact build and decisive serifs convey authority and stability, while the flared shaping adds a subtle, crafted warmth compared to purely mechanical serifs.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic serif voice with extra firmness and presence, using flared terminals to add crafted character without becoming decorative. Its proportions and stroke behavior prioritize impact and a cohesive, dark page color for editorial and titling contexts.

At text sizes the tight spacing and smaller apertures create a dark, continuous color, which can look confident and premium when given adequate leading. The italic is not shown; the presentation emphasizes a consistent, upright roman voice suited to structured typography.
