A heavy, display-oriented serif with irregular, torn-looking contours and sharp, chipped terminals. Strokes are thick and compact, with abrupt notches and bite-like cut-ins that create a distressed silhouette while keeping the underlying letterforms fairly traditional. The texture is consistent across caps, lowercase, and numerals, producing a rhythmic pattern of spikes and rough edges; counters remain mostly open enough for short words, while edges stay intentionally uneven rather than smooth or geometric.

Best suited for headlines, title cards, posters, packaging, and branding where an ominous or spooky atmosphere is desired. It works especially well at medium-to-large sizes where the jagged detailing can be read clearly, and as a strong accent font paired with a simpler text face for supporting copy.

The overall tone feels eerie and theatrical, evoking haunted-house signage, pulp horror titles, and spooky seasonal ephemera. Its rough, gnawed edges add menace and energy without becoming fully abstract, balancing fright with a slightly playful, campy attitude.

The design appears intended to deliver an instantly recognizable horror mood by combining classic serif scaffolding with aggressively distressed, spiked contours. The goal is high-impact display typography that reads quickly while projecting a haunted, weathered, hand-cut aesthetic.

The distressing appears baked into the outlines rather than applied as a separate overlay, so the roughness follows each glyph’s structure consistently. Spacing in the sample text reads as dense and blocky, with the rugged edges doing most of the visual work; it will benefit from generous line spacing when set in paragraphs.
