A heavy, high-contrast serif with broad proportions and strongly bracketed serifs. The strokes show pronounced thick–thin modulation with tapered joins and flared endings that read as crisp but not razor-sharp, giving the face a substantial, carved-in-ink presence. Counters are fairly generous for the weight, while the apertures and terminals often close slightly, creating a dense texture. The lowercase has compact, sturdy forms with prominent ball terminals (notably on e and a), and the numerals appear as oldstyle figures with varied heights and clear contrast.

This font is well suited to headlines and titling where a classic serif voice is needed with extra visual authority—magazine section heads, book covers, and poster typography. It can also work for short passages or pull quotes when generous size and spacing are available to keep the texture from becoming overly dense.

The overall tone is traditional and commanding, with a distinctly editorial and bookish flavor. Its bold color and dramatic contrast convey seriousness and confidence, while the rounded terminals add a touch of warmth and classic refinement.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif structure with heightened contrast and weight for strong presence in print-like settings. It prioritizes impact and tradition over neutrality, aiming for an assertive editorial look that remains rooted in familiar serif forms.

The rhythm is compact and dark, with strong vertical emphasis and a consistent serif grammar across caps, lowercase, and figures. At smaller sizes the dense joins and tight apertures may feel weighty, while at display sizes the contrast and sculpted terminals become a defining feature.
