A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and strongly bracketed serifs. The strokes show a calligraphic influence, with rounded joins and subtly cupped terminals that keep counters open despite the heavy weight. Uppercase forms feel broad and steady, while the lowercase carries more rhythm through rounded bowls and lively ear/terminal details, producing a dark, even typographic color in text. Numerals appear oldstyle (varying heights) with curving forms and clear differentiation, matching the text-centric construction.

Well suited to editorial typography where a strong serif voice is needed—magazine headlines, section openers, pull quotes, and book-cover titling. It can also work for short-to-medium passages when a darker, more emphatic text color is desired, such as introductions, captions, or branded editorial materials.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, projecting authority and refinement without feeling brittle. Its weight and contrast give it a confident, headline-ready presence, while the softened bracketing and rounded details add a humane, bookish warmth.

The design appears intended as a conventional, text-rooted serif with added weight and contrast for impact, preserving classical proportions and readable counters while providing a more commanding presence for modern editorial layouts.

Serifs are substantial and smoothly integrated rather than sharp, which helps maintain legibility at larger text sizes and in display settings. The sample paragraph shows consistent spacing and a stable baseline rhythm, supporting continuous reading while retaining a distinctly bold voice.
