A high-contrast serif with strong thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The design shows a pronounced vertical stress and compact, sculpted counters, with sturdy stems and sharply tapered hairlines that give the outlines a chiseled, print-like feel. Round letters are slightly condensed and tightly enclosed, while diagonals and joins are reinforced to keep forms stable at display sizes. Numerals follow the same contrast pattern, mixing delicate horizontals with weighty verticals and prominent serifed terminations.

This face is well suited to editorial typography and book or magazine display, where its contrast and compact shapes can create a strong typographic voice. It also works effectively for headlines, pull quotes, posters, and identity wordmarks that benefit from a traditional, authoritative serif with pronounced detail.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, with a refined but emphatic presence. Its sharp transitions and compact apertures create a dramatic, authoritative color on the page, reading as traditional, serious, and slightly grand.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, literary serif voice with heightened contrast for impact. It balances classical proportions and bracketed serifs with more assertive stroke modulation to stand out in display contexts while still feeling rooted in text-serif tradition.

Several lowercase forms feature distinctive terminals—most notably a single-storey “a” and “g” with rounded/ball-like finishing, and a “y” with a pronounced descending tail—adding character without breaking the conventional text-serif rhythm. The spacing and proportions feel intended for controlled, dignified settings rather than airy or casual typography.
