A robust serif with bracketed wedges and a sturdy, print-like color on the page. Strokes are moderately contrasted, with rounded transitions and clear, slightly calligraphic shaping in joins and terminals. The capitals are broad and steady, with prominent top serifs on E/F/T and a strong, rounded bowl structure in B/D/O. Lowercase forms are compact and readable, featuring a two-storey a and g, a relatively low-contrast, well-supported spine in s, and a curved descender on y that adds a subtle liveliness. Numerals appear oldstyle, with varied heights and pronounced curves, reinforcing a traditional text rhythm.

Well-suited to editorial typography where a strong, traditional voice is needed, such as magazines, book interiors, and newspaper-like layouts. The substantial weight also makes it effective for headlines, pull quotes, section openers, and brand marks that benefit from a dependable, heritage-leaning serif.

The overall tone is classic and authoritative, suggesting established publishing and institutional communication. Its weight and sturdy serifs give it a confident, slightly formal presence, while the rounded details keep it approachable rather than sharp or austere.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional, dependable serif texture with enough weight for emphasis and strong reproduction in print-like contexts, while preserving familiar text forms and comfortable readability.

Counters are fairly open for the weight, helping maintain clarity in dense settings. The Q has a distinctive tail and the uppercase J shows a strong hooked form, adding character without pushing into display novelty.
