This serif has compact proportions with sturdy verticals and a distinctly chiseled silhouette. Serifs are bracketed and often wedge-like, with small flares and occasional beak terminals that give joins a slightly faceted, cut-from-metal feel. Curves are somewhat squared off, and stroke transitions show subtle, uneven modulation that reads as intentionally rugged rather than geometric. Uppercase forms are tall and firm; lowercase counters are open enough for text, with a two-storey “a” and “g,” short-to-moderate extenders, and a generally tight, newspaper-like rhythm. Numerals are heavy and traditional, with strong stems and crisp terminals that match the caps.

Well-suited to editorial headlines, magazine typography, and book-cover titling where a classic serif voice with extra bite is desired. It can also work for mastheads, pull quotes, and poster typography, especially when you want dense, authoritative text color and a vintage-leaning presence.

The overall tone is traditional and assertive, evoking printed editorial typography and historical book serifs. Its slightly roughened, carved detailing adds a touch of vintage drama without becoming decorative, lending seriousness and a quietly theatrical edge.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional text-serif foundation with added personality through chiseled terminals, bracketed serifs, and slightly rugged modulation. It aims for strong presence and recognizability in display settings while remaining legible and familiar in structure.

The face shows consistent, angular handling across rounds (C, G, O) and diagonals (K, V, W), producing a cohesive, engraved character. Spacing appears compact and color is strong, which helps it hold up in headlines and short text while still feeling rooted in conventional serif structure.
