This is a classic serif with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and clearly modulated strokes. Vertical stems are firm while curved strokes taper into thinner hairlines, producing a crisp, traditional rhythm. Counters are relatively open for a high-contrast face, and the lowercase shows a modest, slightly compact proportioning with a noticeably short x-height compared to the capitals. Several forms feature soft, calligraphic details such as ball terminals and gently flared stroke endings, giving the outlines a lively, drawn quality rather than a purely geometric construction.

It suits book typography and editorial layouts where a traditional serif voice is desired, performing well in body text and extended reading when set with comfortable leading. The high-contrast detailing also works for chapter openings, pull quotes, and refined headings, especially in print-oriented designs.

The overall tone is formal and bookish, with an editorial gravity that feels suited to established institutions and long-form reading. Subtle calligraphic cues add warmth and refinement, keeping it from feeling overly rigid or modernist.

The design appears intended to evoke conventional, historically rooted text serif typography with a refined, slightly calligraphic finish. Its proportions and oldstyle figure style suggest an emphasis on continuous reading and classic page color rather than overt display novelty.

Figures appear as oldstyle numerals, with varying heights and descenders/ascenders that blend naturally into text. The italic is not shown; in the upright, the stress reads as slightly calligraphic, and the punctuation and ampersand share the same high-contrast, traditional serif language.
