A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. Capitals are wide and stable with sculpted curves and tapered terminals, while the lowercase shows compact bowls and relatively short-to-moderate ascenders that keep the rhythm dense and even. Strokes finish cleanly with sharp joins and subtle flare, giving counters a carved, slightly calligraphic feel. Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic with strong vertical stress and open forms that read clearly at display sizes.

Well suited to headlines, book and magazine titling, pull quotes, and other editorial display contexts where strong contrast and classic serif detailing help establish hierarchy. It can also support brand marks and packaging that aim for a traditional, premium tone.

The overall tone is traditional and authoritative, with an editorial seriousness that feels at home in books and institutions. Its strong contrast and substantial presence convey confidence and formality rather than casual friendliness.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, text-serif voice with heightened contrast and weight for impactful display use, balancing classical proportions with crisp detailing to stay legible and composed in larger typography.

At larger sizes the detailing in the curves and the bracketed serifs becomes a defining feature, lending a refined, engraved-like character. The bold presence and tight internal spacing make it particularly effective for short text blocks and emphatic typographic moments.
