A compact serif with bracketed, wedge-like terminals and a subtly calligraphic stroke flow. Proportions are on the condensed side with relatively tall ascenders and modest x-height, creating a firm vertical rhythm without feeling rigid. Stroke contrast is moderate, with diagonals and curves showing a gentle modulation and slightly angled stress. Serifs are crisp but not hairline, and many joins and terminals show small quirks that add texture, including a lively two-storey “a” and “g” and oldstyle figures that dip and rise around the baseline.

Works well for book interiors, essays, and editorial layouts where a classic serif texture is desired, especially at text sizes where the moderate contrast and bracketed serifs hold together. It also suits display use for titles, pull quotes, and packaging that benefits from an antiquarian or literary voice.

The overall tone is traditional and bookish, evoking older printed literature and editorial typography. Its small irregularities and wedge serifs give it an antique, hand-influenced warmth while remaining composed and readable.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional text-serif foundation with a slightly archaic, print-inspired character, balancing traditional readability with a few distinctive, ornamental touches for personality in caps and figures.

The “A” features a distinctive crossed/looped construction that reads as a decorative cap, and several capitals (notably C, G, S, and Q) show pronounced, tapered terminals that enliven headings. Numerals appear oldstyle and relatively narrow, lending a historically flavored texture in running text.
