A high-contrast serif with sharply modulated strokes, crisp terminals, and bracketed serifs that taper cleanly into stems. The capitals are stately and fairly compact, with a traditional Roman structure and decisive, slightly flared serifs. Lowercase forms show a classic text rhythm: a double-storey “a,” compact bowls, and a neatly modeled “g,” with sturdy verticals and fine hairlines that create a clear thick–thin pattern. Numerals follow the same engraved, old-style sensibility, pairing strong stems with delicate finishing strokes for an elegant but firm texture.

Well suited to book typography, magazine and newspaper-style editorial layouts, and institutional or cultural branding where a classic serif tone is desired. It also performs convincingly for headings, pull quotes, and formal announcements where its contrast and sharp serifs can add polish and hierarchy.

The overall tone is traditional and composed, suggesting editorial authority and a cultivated, bookish voice. Its sharp contrast and clean detailing read as refined and formal, with a quiet sense of heritage rather than novelty.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif that channels traditional Roman proportions and editorial seriousness. Its modeling and finishing suggest an aim for refined readability and classic typographic credibility across both continuous text and prominent titling.

At larger sizes the hairlines and interior joins appear especially crisp, while in dense settings the strong contrast creates a lively shimmer and emphasizes vertical rhythm. The letterforms keep a conservative, conventional construction, prioritizing clarity and poise over eccentric display gestures.
