A high-contrast serif italic with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and a distinctly calligraphic, diagonally stressed construction. Strokes taper into fine hairlines, with crisp joins and lively curves that create a varied, slightly irregular rhythm typical of traditional italics. The capitals are stately and relatively wide with elegant terminals, while the lowercase shows a moderate x-height, open apertures, and flowing entry/exit strokes; ascenders are prominent and the overall texture is airy despite the strong thick–thin modulation. Numerals share the same italic slant and contrast, reading as text-friendly figures rather than rigid, monoline forms.

Well suited for editorial typography where an italic voice is needed—book and magazine text, introductions, quotations, captions, and refined headings. It also fits formal printed matter such as programs or invitations, especially where a classic, high-contrast serif texture is desirable.

The font conveys a traditional, bookish sophistication—confident and cultured, with an understated sense of ceremony. Its italic energy feels expressive yet controlled, suggesting classic publishing and fine print rather than casual or utilitarian typography.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, readable serif italic with a strong connection to calligraphic tradition, balancing elegance and clarity for literary and editorial settings.

The slant is consistent across cases and figures, and the contrast is pronounced enough to feel elegant at larger sizes while still maintaining clear internal spaces. Curved letters show smooth, continuous modulation, and terminals tend toward sharp, pen-like finishes that reinforce the historical, humanist tone.
