This is a sturdy text serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a predominantly vertical stress. Serifs are bracketed and fairly sharp, with occasional beak-like finishing on letters such as C, G, and S, giving the outlines a carved, decisive feel. The lowercase shows compact, well-contained counters and a moderate rhythm, while capitals are broad and stable with strong verticals and tight internal spaces. Numerals are weighty and oldstyle-leaning in feel due to their rounded, slightly calligraphic finishing, maintaining the same high-contrast logic and firm baseline presence as the letters.

It performs especially well for headlines, decks, pull quotes, and editorial typography where a strong serif presence is desirable. It can also work for book and magazine text when paired with generous spacing, and for branding applications that want a traditional, authoritative impression.

The overall tone reads classic and editorial, with a confident, slightly stern voice typical of traditional publishing. Its sharp terminals and high contrast add a sense of sophistication and seriousness, suitable for content that aims to feel established and credible.

The design appears intended to evoke conventional book serifs with added weight and contrast for impact. Its consistent, disciplined forms suggest a focus on legibility and seriousness, while the sharper terminals provide a more assertive, contemporary edge within a classic framework.

At larger sizes the crisp terminals and strong contrast become a defining feature, producing a punchy, poster-like color. In continuous text the compact counters and dark weight can create a dense texture, so careful leading and column width will help maintain clarity.
