A very heavy, high-contrast serif with sculpted, flaring terminals and pronounced bracketed serifs. Stems are thick and vertical, while joins and transitions pinch sharply, creating a chiseled, almost ink-trap-like tension at interior corners. Counters are relatively compact and the rhythm is dense, with strong black presence in both uppercase and lowercase. The lowercase shows traditional proportions with a sturdy, single-storey a, compact bowls, and a straight, robust italic-less stance; numerals match the weight and contrast with bold, poster-ready silhouettes.

Best suited to display typography where strong contrast and dense color are advantages: magazine headlines, book jackets, posters, and branding systems that need a classic but forceful serif. It can also work for short subheads or pull quotes, while longer text will benefit from careful size and spacing to avoid a heavy, closed-in texture.

The tone is confident and emphatic, balancing a traditional bookish heritage with a punchy, attention-grabbing voice. Its sculpted terminals and tight counters add a slightly vintage, headline-driven character that feels authoritative rather than delicate.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with heightened impact, using flared terminals and sharp modulation to create a carved, premium feel. It prioritizes presence and hierarchy in large sizes while maintaining recognizable, conventional letterforms.

Uppercase forms read particularly monumental due to the thick verticals and decisive serif shaping, while letters like S, a, and g emphasize the font’s carved, high-contrast modulation. The overall texture is dark and compact, so whitespace can feel tight at display sizes unless generous tracking is used.
