A compact, strongly bracketing serif with pronounced contrast and a slightly roughened, hand-inked finish. Serifs are beak-like and unevenly flared, with softened corners and subtle wobble that breaks strict geometric regularity. Curves (notably in C, G, O, Q, and the bowls of b/p) are full and dark, while counters remain open enough for display readability. The lowercase shows a sturdy, oldstyle-like rhythm with modest ascenders/descenders and rounded joins; figures are similarly weighty, with a distinctively curled 2 and open, sculpted 4.

It performs best in display contexts where its dark color and distinctive serif shapes can be appreciated—posters, headlines, book covers, labels, and character-driven branding. It can also work for short editorial passages or pull quotes when a vintage, slightly rugged texture is desired, but its strong texture is more suited to larger sizes than dense body copy.

The overall tone feels antique and literary, like printed ephemera or a well-worn book face that’s been slightly distressed. Its irregularities add warmth and personality, giving text a quirky, handcrafted confidence rather than a polished, corporate feel.

The font appears designed to evoke historical print and handcrafted signage, combining traditional serif structure with deliberately irregular, decorative finishing. The goal seems to be a memorable, tactile text color that reads clearly at display sizes while projecting a retro, storybook personality.

The design leans into expressive details—curled tails, asymmetric serifs, and slightly lumpy strokes—creating a lively texture across lines of text. In longer samples the dark color and contrast produce a firm page presence, making spacing and line breaks feel substantial and deliberate.
