This serif typeface shows pronounced thick–thin modulation with crisp, tapered terminals and bracketed wedge-like serifs that give strokes a sculpted, engraved feel. Curves are generous and round, while joins and endings resolve into sharp points or delicate flares, producing a lively rhythm across words. Proportions feel balanced for text, with clear counters and a steady baseline; the design also exhibits noticeable character-to-character breadth variation, adding a slightly expressive, old-style texture. Numerals are similarly high-contrast and elegantly drawn, matching the letterforms’ tapered finishing and vertical stress.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts where a classic serif texture is desired, and it also performs convincingly for display roles such as section heads, pull quotes, and refined packaging or identity work. Its sharp contrast and tapered details particularly reward generous sizing and good printing or high-resolution screens.

The overall tone is traditional and cultivated, with an editorial seriousness that reads as bookish and authoritative. Its high-contrast detailing and sharp finishing add a touch of luxury and ceremony, making the voice feel refined rather than utilitarian.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif with a subtly calligraphic, historically informed flavor—aiming for clarity and familiarity while adding elegance through sculpted serifs and tapered terminals.

Diagonal strokes (notably in V, W, X, and Y) show strong modulation and pointed terminals, and the lowercase includes distinctive, calligraphic-looking details such as the angled ear on the g and a compact, incisive s. In larger sizes the hairlines and tapered beaks become a defining feature, while in smaller settings the texture remains lively due to the contrast and varied widths.
