A slanted, high-contrast serif with a distinctly calligraphic construction. Strokes flare from hairline terminals into full, weighty stems, producing strong thick–thin rhythm and crisp, knife-like joins. Serifs are bracketed and often sharpen into tapered points, while many terminals finish with teardrop-like forms that emphasize the pen-driven feel. Proportions are slightly condensed with lively width variation across letters; counters are relatively tight and the overall color is dark and energetic at text and display sizes.

Best suited to headlines, pull quotes, and editorial display where the strong contrast and italic momentum can be appreciated. It can also work for book covers, branding, and premium packaging where a classic serif voice is desired with extra drama. For long passages, it will read most comfortably at larger sizes with generous spacing.

The tone is theatrical and refined, blending old-style bookish authority with a punchy, poster-ready presence. Its sweeping italic motion and sharp terminals give it a stylish, slightly mischievous character suited to expressive editorial typography.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif foundation with heightened contrast and italic expressiveness, echoing broad-nib or pointed-pen influence while remaining recognizably bookish. It prioritizes style and presence, aiming for a refined, attention-grabbing texture rather than quiet neutrality.

Uppercase forms feel formal and stable, while the lowercase introduces more personality through angled entry/exit strokes and occasional swash-like curves. Numerals lean and follow the same contrast logic, reading as traditional and decorative rather than purely utilitarian.
