This serif shows clear oldstyle influence with bracketed, slightly wedge-like serifs and a moderate-to-high contrast between thick and thin strokes. Curves exhibit a gentle diagonal stress, with rounded, calligraphic transitions rather than rigid geometry. Proportions are compact with a notably small x-height against relatively tall ascenders and deep descenders, giving the text a vertical, bookish rhythm. Terminals are crisp and tapered, and the lowercase includes traditional details such as a two-storey “a” and “g,” plus a modestly curved “f” and a lively “j” with a distinct descender.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books, essays, and editorial layouts where a traditional serif voice is desired. It also works effectively for dignified headings, pull quotes, and formal invitations or certificates, especially when paired with generous leading to accommodate the compact x-height.

The overall tone is traditional and composed, with a distinctly editorial, book-oriented feel. Its sharp serifs and lively modulation lend a sense of craft and heritage, while the steady spacing keeps it sober and credible for serious reading.

The design appears intended to evoke a conventional, time-tested text serif with oldstyle warmth and refined contrast, aiming for a literary tone and comfortable rhythm in paragraph settings while still providing enough crispness for display sizes.

In text, the strong thick–thin modulation and fine hairlines become more prominent, and the short x-height makes lowercase counters feel tighter than the capitals. Numerals appear lining and proportionally varied, with classic forms such as a curved “2” and an open-top “4,” reinforcing the historical, print-like character.
