This serif presents a traditional text-face structure with clearly bracketed serifs, tapered terminals, and pronounced thick–thin modulation. Capitals are stately and evenly proportioned, with smooth curves (C, O, Q) and a restrained, slightly calligraphic logic in joins and diagonals. The lowercase shows a compact, readable rhythm with a two-storey a and g, narrow apertures in letters like e and c, and a relatively tall ascender presence that keeps lines orderly. Figures are oldstyle in feel, mixing varying widths and heights with serifed stems and curved forms, giving number strings a bookish cadence rather than a rigid, tabular one.

Well-suited to long-form reading environments such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where a familiar serif voice is desirable. It also works effectively for formal communications—programs, stationery, and announcements—especially when set with generous leading to let the contrast and serifs breathe.

The overall tone is classic and cultured, evoking printed literature, editorial authority, and institutional formality. Its contrast and sharp finishing details add a sense of refinement and seriousness, making it feel established and trustworthy rather than casual or playful.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-quality roman for text and display crossover: traditional proportions and serif detailing for credibility in paragraphs, with enough contrast and sharpness to hold presence in headings and pull quotes.

In text, the spacing reads measured and conservative, supporting continuous reading while keeping a crisp, engraved-like edge at larger sizes. The italic is not shown; the displayed style relies on upright roman forms with strong serif cues and careful stroke transitions.
