A compact blackletter with broken, angular strokes and crisp, knife-like terminals. Vertical stems dominate, with tight counters and a consistent, pen-driven rhythm that alternates thickened main strokes and finer connecting cuts. Uppercase forms are ornate but controlled, using pointed arches, notches, and occasional flourish-like hooks, while lowercase stays sturdy and compact with clear diamond-like joins and minimal roundness. Numerals follow the same sharp, fractured construction, keeping the texture dense and strongly patterned on the line.

Best used for headlines, mastheads, titles, and short display lines where its dense texture and ornate construction can be appreciated. It works well on certificates, invitations, labels, and packaging that call for a traditional, authoritative voice, and is especially effective when set large with generous tracking.

The overall tone is traditional and solemn, evoking manuscript and heraldic lettering with a distinctly old-world authority. Its dark texture and spiky silhouettes feel ceremonial and dramatic, suited to designs that want gravitas rather than casual friendliness.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic blackletter presence with disciplined, repeatable forms—prioritizing strong texture, historical flavor, and decorative capitals for impactful display typography.

The face creates a strong horizontal “color” through repeating verticals and narrow internal spaces, making word shapes highly stylized. Capitals can become visually dominant due to their extra ornament and width relative to the lowercase, so mixed-case settings read most confidently when given breathing room.
