A compact serif with pronounced flaring at stroke ends and bracketed serifs that feel carved rather than mechanically appended. Strokes show moderate modulation with sturdy verticals and subtly tapered transitions, producing a crisp, high-ink presence without becoming a slab. Counters are relatively tight and the fit is economical, while curves (notably in C, G, and S) stay controlled and slightly condensed. Lowercase forms keep a straightforward, readable construction with a two-storey a, a compact e, and a narrow, pointed-shoulder r; capitals are upright and weighty with clean, slightly pinched apexes in A/V/W.

Best suited to display and larger text where its dark color, flared stroke endings, and compact proportions create strong impact—such as headlines, magazine titles, book covers, and posters. It can also work for short-form text in print-oriented layouts where a classic, authoritative voice is desired.

The tone is traditional and authoritative, with a bookish, old-style seriousness that reads as established and dependable. The flared endings add a subtle calligraphic dignity, lending the face a ceremonial, editorial flavor rather than a purely utilitarian one.

The design appears intended to deliver a condensed, high-presence serif with flared, calligraphic finishing—combining traditional bookish cues with a denser, more dramatic texture for titling and editorial emphasis.

Numerals are robust and sharply drawn, with distinctive angled stress and compact widths that align well with the tight rhythm of the letters. The overall texture in paragraph settings is dark and even, with clear word shapes and strong vertical emphasis.
