This serif shows pronounced thick–thin modulation with sturdy vertical stems and sharply tapered joins, producing a crisp, high-contrast texture. Serifs are bracketed and slightly flared, with a carved, wedge-like finish that reads clearly at display sizes. Counters are moderately open, terminals are mostly angled and sheared rather than flat, and the overall rhythm feels compact and authoritative. Lowercase forms appear traditional and slightly calligraphic, with a single-storey ‘g’ and a lively, ear-like detail that adds character without becoming decorative.

It suits headlines, title treatments, and editorial typography where a traditional serif voice is desired and strong contrast can be showcased. It can also work well for book covers and branding that aim for heritage, literary, or institutional cues, especially at medium-to-large sizes where the sculpted serifs and stroke modulation remain clear.

The tone is classic and bookish, with a slightly theatrical, old-world confidence. It carries a traditional editorial feel—serious and cultured—while the energetic terminals keep it from feeling sterile or purely academic.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional text-serif model by amplifying contrast and sharpening terminals, creating a more assertive, display-friendly texture while preserving familiar, readable proportions.

In the sample text, the bold weight and high contrast create strong word shapes and a dark, confident color on the page. The numerals and capitals share the same sculpted serif treatment, giving headings and short lines a cohesive, formal presence.
