This serif typeface features pronounced thick–thin contrast with crisp, finely tapered serifs and a steady upright stance. Capitals are broad and stately with smooth, bracketed joins and sharp terminals, while the lowercase shows a controlled, text-oriented rhythm with moderately open counters and a balanced, traditional axis. Curves are clean and slightly calligraphic, with tapered arms and well-defined terminals that keep the texture lively without becoming ornate. Numerals appear lining and proportional, matching the letterforms with elegant contrast and clear, old-style-inspired shaping.

It is well suited to editorial typography—books, magazines, and long-form reading—where its classic proportions and clear serif structure support a comfortable, traditional texture. The high contrast and refined details also make it effective for display roles such as headlines, pull quotes, title pages, and formal invitations or programs, especially when ample size and spacing allow the hairlines to stay crisp.

The overall tone is polished and traditional, evoking bookish sophistication and a sense of established authority. Its high-contrast strokes and refined serifs give it a composed, cultured voice suited to classic, premium presentation rather than casual or utilitarian settings.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast serif for sophisticated reading and publishing contexts, combining classical proportions with sharpened modern crispness. It aims to deliver a dignified, literary voice with enough distinctive detailing to stand out in display while remaining grounded for text composition.

Distinctive details include a sweeping, calligraphic tail on the capital Q and gently tapered strokes on letters like C, G, and S that add motion to the otherwise disciplined structure. At larger sizes the sharpness of the terminals and the delicacy of the thin strokes become a key part of the character, while in continuous text the face maintains a measured, editorial color.
