A high-contrast serif with delicate hairlines, pronounced thick–thin transitions, and sharp, tapered finishing. Serifs are finely bracketed and generally crisp, giving stems a sculpted, calligraphic feel rather than a mechanical one. Proportions are moderately narrow with a compact x-height and relatively tall capitals, producing a formal vertical rhythm and clear hierarchy between upper- and lowercase. The lowercase shows traditional, text-oriented construction with generous ascenders/descenders, a two-storey “g,” a narrow “f,” and lively italic-like entry strokes despite the upright stance; figures appear oldstyle with varying heights and strong contrast.

Well suited to long-form reading in books, journals, and magazine layouts where a classic serif texture is desired. The strong contrast and refined details also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and elegant printed pieces such as programs, invitations, and cultural branding.

The overall tone is traditional and literary, with an editorial polish that reads as cultured and authoritative. Its sharp hairlines and poised curves add a sense of elegance and ceremony, while the compact lowercase lends a slightly aristocratic, bookish texture in paragraphs.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional text serif with heightened contrast and crisp finishing, balancing readability with a more luxurious, editorial presence. It aims to provide a familiar, literary voice while adding distinctive sparkle through hairlines and tapered terminals.

Round forms (O, C, G, o, e) are smooth and controlled, and joins keep a clean, even color despite the contrast. The Q has a distinctive, sweeping tail that adds character in display settings. At small sizes, the thin strokes and tight interior spaces may call for careful sizing and line spacing to maintain clarity.
