A traditional serif italic with strong thick–thin modulation and a steady, right-leaning stance. Serifs are bracketed and sharply finished, with tapered entry and exit strokes that give counters a slightly triangular, oldstyle feel. Proportions are compact with moderate ascenders/descenders, and the overall color is firm and emphatic without becoming blocky. Numerals and capitals maintain the same high-contrast rhythm, with curving diagonals and crisp terminals that keep the texture lively in setting.

Works well for editorial typography, book and magazine settings, and any context where italic is used as a primary voice (headlines, subheads, pull quotes, or leads). It can also support formal branding and packaging where a classic serif italic helps convey heritage and seriousness.

The tone is classic and editorial—polished, authoritative, and slightly dramatic. Its calligraphic undercurrent reads as literary and formal, suited to refined messaging where an italic voice should feel intentional rather than merely slanted.

The design appears intended to provide a strong, readable italic with a distinctly traditional serif character—high contrast, crisp finishing, and a consistent calligraphic rhythm. It aims to deliver emphasis and elegance while maintaining the disciplined structure expected of conventional text serifs.

In the sample text, the italic angle and contrast create a strong horizontal flow and pronounced word shapes, while the bracketed serifs prevent the forms from looking brittle. At larger sizes the crisp terminals and modulation become a defining feature, emphasizing emphasis and hierarchy.
