A dense, angular blackletter with broken-stroke construction and sharply pointed terminals. Vertical stems dominate, with strong thick–thin modulation and crisp interior counters that stay relatively tight at text sizes. Capitals are ornate yet controlled, using wedge-like joins and small spur details rather than wide flourishes, while lowercase forms remain compact with a notably low x-height and tall, emphatic ascenders. Numerals follow the same chiseled, calligraphic logic, keeping a consistent dark color and rhythmic vertical stress across the set.

Best suited to display settings such as headlines, titles, posters, and identity work where a historic or gothic voice is desired. It can work for short passages or pull quotes when set generously, but it is most effective when used to create immediate atmosphere and presence rather than for long-form reading.

The overall tone is medieval and ceremonial, evoking manuscripts, heraldic inscriptions, and solemn proclamations. Its heavy texture and pointed forms feel dramatic and authoritative, with a slightly stern, traditional character rather than playful or casual.

The design appears intended to translate traditional blackletter calligraphy into a bold, print-ready display face with consistent weight and a strong, dark page color. It prioritizes period character—broken strokes, pointed joins, and compact proportions—while keeping letterforms regular enough to compose into impactful lines of text.

In continuous text, the font produces a strong, uniform black texture with pronounced vertical rhythm and relatively tight spacing, which can reduce legibility at small sizes but increases impact. The most distinctive personality comes through in the capitals and in the sharp, faceted curves that read like pen-cut angles.
