A crisp oldstyle serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and vertical stress, combining sturdy main stems with hairline cross-strokes and delicate, bracketed serifs. Proportions are compact and economical, giving the set a tight rhythm and a slightly compressed feel in text. Uppercase forms are stately and moderately wide in structure, while the lowercase shows traditional book-seriff detailing—two-storey a and g, a compact e with a small aperture, and sharply tapered terminals on letters like f, r, and y. Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic, with slim diagonals and fine serifs that keep the color light while preserving clarity.

Well suited to long-form reading environments such as books, journals, and editorial layouts where a conventional serif texture is expected. It also works effectively for literary or academic titling, pull quotes, and formal print collateral where its refined contrast can add hierarchy and polish.

The overall tone is traditional and cultivated, evoking book typography and established editorial design. Its sharp contrast and precise detailing add a sense of formality and refinement, suited to settings where a classical voice is desired rather than a casual one.

The design appears intended to deliver a familiar, bookish serif voice with a compact footprint and elevated contrast, balancing tradition with a clean, contemporary crispness. Its detailing emphasizes typographic elegance and clear hierarchy in editorial composition.

At display sizes the thin strokes and hairline serifs read particularly crisp, while in continuous text the compact proportions create a dense, disciplined texture. The italic is not shown; the sample demonstrates a consistent roman voice with clear differentiation between uppercase and lowercase forms.
