This is a classic serif with strong thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The capitals are stately and evenly proportioned with sharp apexes (notably in A, V, W) and clean, tapered terminals. Lowercase forms are compact and traditional, with a double-storey a, a two-storey g, and a fairly narrow, vertically stressed o; the e has a clear horizontal crossbar and open aperture. Strokes transition from robust stems to fine hairlines, giving the design a bright, high-contrast texture, while spacing and sidebearings read balanced for continuous text.

Well-suited to book and long-form editorial typography where a classic serif texture is desired. It also fits academic and institutional materials, reports, and any setting that benefits from a formal, traditional voice in headlines or running text.

The overall tone is traditional and cultivated, evoking book typography and established editorial design. Its contrast and sharp details lend a sense of refinement and authority, while the familiar letterforms keep it approachable for long-form reading.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif that prioritizes familiarity and readability while adding elegance through pronounced contrast and finely finished serifs. Its proportions and restrained detailing suggest an emphasis on dependable performance in continuous reading with a refined, print-oriented character.

Figures appear lining and proportional, with noticeable width variation across numerals and clear stroke contrast that matches the text. The italic is not shown; all samples presented read as upright roman. At larger sizes, the hairlines and delicate joins become especially prominent, contributing to a crisp, polished page color.
