A high-contrast serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a crisp, engraved feel. Serifs are bracketing but end in sharp, tapered terminals, giving strokes a carved, slightly calligraphic finish. Capitals are broad and steady with strong vertical stress; rounds (C, O, G) show deep contrast and tight inner curves. Lowercase forms are compact and weighty, with sturdy stems, a single-story g, and a relatively small, distinct ear on r; joins and shoulders stay clean and controlled. Figures are lining and similarly high-contrast, with the 2/3/5 showing elegant curves and fine hairlines.

Best suited to headlines, pull quotes, and editorial typography where contrast and strong serifs can carry the design. It also fits book covers and refined branding that wants a classic foundation with extra visual punch; for long text it will work most comfortably at moderate sizes with adequate leading.

The overall tone is formal and editorial, combining traditional bookish manners with a showy, high-contrast drama. It reads as confident and institutional—suited to messages that should feel established, serious, and polished.

Likely designed to provide a conventional serif structure with heightened contrast and sharper finishing, aiming for a premium editorial voice that stands out in display settings while retaining familiar letter shapes.

At larger sizes the sharp terminals and hairlines add sparkle and a luxe texture, while in dense settings the heavy main strokes create a strong typographic color. The rhythm is fairly classical, but the pronounced contrast and pointed finishing details push it toward display-oriented use.
