A high-contrast serif with strong thick–thin modulation and pronounced bracketed serifs. Stems are sturdy and vertical, while hairlines are crisp and relatively fine, producing a punchy, ink-on-paper rhythm at display sizes. The lowercase shows a traditional text-serifs structure with a two-storey a and g, a compact, slightly condensed internal spacing, and a fairly steady x-height against prominent ascenders. Terminals often resolve into softened points or small ball-like finishes, and the overall fit feels confident and tightly set, with capitals designed for weighty headings.

Well suited to headlines, deck type, and prominent editorial typography where contrast and presence are desired. It can also work for book or journal titling and pull quotes, especially in layouts that benefit from a traditional serif voice and strong typographic hierarchy.

The tone is traditional and editorial, with a distinctly authoritative presence. Its sharp contrast and firm serifs evoke printed literature and newspaper headline culture, giving text a serious, established voice rather than a casual or technical one.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional text-serif silhouette with heightened contrast and weight for impactful reading and display. It prioritizes a classic publishing sensibility—clear serif articulation, disciplined vertical stress, and a confident, print-forward texture.

Numerals read as oldstyle (text) figures with noticeable ascender/descender behavior, contributing to a bookish texture in running text. Curves (notably in C, G, S, and e) are drawn with assertive swelling and tapered joins, which heightens the dramatic contrast and reinforces a classic, engraved-like feel.
