A heavy, high-contrast serif with pronounced, triangular wedge serifs and sharply cut terminals. Stems are sturdy and mostly upright, while bowls and curves show a calligraphic stress that creates a lively thick–thin rhythm, especially in C, G, S, and the numerals. Many joins and inside corners have crisp notches that read like ink-trap cuts, giving counters a slightly faceted feel. Proportions are on the wide side with open apertures and a steady baseline, producing strong, blocky word shapes at display sizes.

Best suited to headlines, mastheads, and title work where its strong contrast and wedge-serifs can read clearly and add character. It can also work well for packaging and book covers that need a classic-but-distinctive voice; for long text, it’s likely more effective in short bursts such as pull quotes or section openers.

The overall tone is authoritative and editorial, blending classical serif cues with a slightly unconventional, cut-in detailing that feels dramatic and attention-seeking. It projects confidence and tradition while retaining a distinctive, crafted edge.

The design appears intended as a display serif that amplifies traditional Roman forms with bolder proportions and sharpened, decorative serif treatments. The notched joins and crisp terminals suggest a goal of adding visual sparkle and improved clarity at larger sizes while maintaining a formal, editorial foundation.

Round letters (O, Q, 0, 8, 9) stay very bold and stable, while diagonals (V, W, X, Y) end in sharp wedge feet that add bite. The lowercase has a compact, sturdy texture; the single-storey a and the strong, flat-topped serifs contribute to a poster-like presence rather than a delicate book face.
