A high-contrast serif with clear thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The capitals are stately and fairly wide with sharp apexes (notably in A, V, W, and Y) and smooth, rounded bowls in C, O, and Q. Lowercase forms show a traditional text rhythm: a two-storey a with a teardrop terminal, a compact two-storey g, and a relatively narrow, pointed w; counters are open and the stroke endings tend toward fine, tapered terminals rather than blunt cuts. Numerals are old-style in feel, with noticeable contrast and curved strokes, producing an elegant, classical texture in both isolated glyphs and paragraph settings.

It works well for book typography, long-form editorial, and magazine layouts where a classic serif texture is desired. The strong contrast and crisp serifs also make it effective for pull quotes, section heads, and formal invitations, particularly at medium to larger sizes where the fine hairlines can breathe.

The overall tone is traditional and cultivated, with a quiet sense of authority. Its sharp serifs and pronounced contrast read as refined and literary, suited to formal or editorial contexts rather than casual or utilitarian branding.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, high-contrast reading face with an elevated, classical character. Its proportions and detailing prioritize a refined page color and traditional typographic cues suitable for established publishing and formal communication.

In text, the font forms a consistent, slightly calligraphic rhythm driven by strong verticals and delicate hairlines. The punctuation and dots appear small and neat, reinforcing a precise, polished impression, while the italic-like shaping is absent, keeping the voice steady and reserved.
