This typeface is a high-contrast serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a strongly vertical axis. Serifs are finely bracketed and crisp, with tapered, knife-like finishing on many strokes. Uppercase forms are compact and stately with tall verticals and controlled curves, while the lowercase shows a traditional text rhythm with a moderate x-height, clear ascenders/descenders, and compact counters. Overall spacing and letterfit read on the tighter side, producing a dense, economical line that still feels polished and deliberate.

It suits long-form reading in books and essays where a classic serif voice is desired, as well as editorial layouts such as magazines and newspapers. The strong contrast and compact width also make it effective for headlines, subheads, and pull quotes where a refined, traditional tone is needed without consuming much horizontal space.

The overall tone is traditional and authoritative, with an editorial refinement that suggests careful typesetting. Its sharp contrast and narrow proportions convey elegance and seriousness, lending a literary, old-world flavor without becoming decorative.

The design appears intended as a conventional, readable serif with an elevated, editorial finish: compact proportions for efficient setting, paired with high contrast and precise serifs to project sophistication and typographic tradition.

The numerals follow the same high-contrast logic, mixing sturdy stems with delicate hairlines for a cohesive text-and-display feel. Curved letters show controlled, slightly condensed bowls, and many terminals resolve into pointed or tapered endings that enhance the crisp, formal character.
