This typeface is an italic serif with lively, hand-rendered construction and visibly irregular edges. Strokes show pronounced thick–thin modulation, with narrow hairlines and heavier shaded stems that create a crisp, calligraphic rhythm. Serifs are sharp and slightly flared, often ending in pointed, ink-catching terminals. Letterforms lean consistently to the right, with varied stroke endings and subtle wobble that suggests rough printing or a distressed ink texture. Proportions feel moderately compact with slightly narrow counters, and the figures follow the same slanted, inked character as the letters.

Works well for display typography where a vintage, printed-by-hand impression is desirable—such as book covers, editorial headlines, posters, labels, and themed packaging. It can also support short passages or pull quotes when a textured, old-world italic voice is more important than pristine smoothness, especially at sizes large enough for the fine hairlines and distress to remain clear.

The overall tone feels antique and human, like text pulled from an old book, broadside, or workshop ephemera. Its roughened outlines add grit and immediacy, while the elegant italic movement keeps it refined rather than crude. The result is atmospheric and narrative, lending a sense of age, craft, and authenticity.

The design appears intended to evoke an old italic serif cut filtered through imperfect inking and worn impression. By combining high-contrast calligraphic strokes with consistent roughening, it aims to deliver both elegance and patina—suggesting period authenticity, craft, and tactile print texture.

Capitals have a dramatic, swashy presence (notably in curved letters like Q and S), while lowercase maintains a steady cursive flow suitable for continuous reading at display sizes. The texture is consistent across the set, so the distressed effect reads as intentional rather than accidental. Numerals are similarly stylized, with angled stress and slightly uneven contours that keep the set cohesive.
