A high-contrast serif with pronounced vertical stress and very fine hairlines. Serifs are sharp and largely unbracketed, giving the letters a crisp, cut-from-metal feel. Capitals are stately with broad bowls and tapered joins, while the lowercase shows compact, bookish forms with sturdy stems and delicate cross-strokes. Curves are smooth and controlled, counters are relatively open, and spacing reads even in text, producing a clean, rhythmic texture.

Well-suited to book typography, editorial layouts, and magazine work where a classic serif voice is desired. It also performs well for headlines, pull quotes, and formal materials such as invitations or certificates, where its sharp serifs and high contrast can add elegance and emphasis.

The overall tone is traditional and authoritative, with a refined, old-style book sensibility sharpened by modern, clean serifs. It feels serious and cultivated—suited to content that benefits from gravitas and polish rather than friendliness or casual warmth.

The design appears intended to deliver a timeless, print-oriented serif with clear vertical stress and refined detailing, balancing traditional letterform proportions with a crisp, high-contrast finish for both text setting and display emphasis.

In the samples, the strong thick–thin modulation remains clear at display sizes and still holds together in paragraph text, where the hairlines contribute sparkle without overpowering the page. Numerals and capitals carry a dignified presence, and the design favors crispness over softness in terminals and serifs.
