This serif presents sharply defined, bracketed serifs and a strongly calligraphic modulation, with thick verticals paired to hairline-thin horizontals and joins. Capitals are stately and compact with crisp wedge-like finishing, while the lowercase shows lively, sculpted curves—most notably in the two-storey “g” and the hooked, slightly theatrical “j” and “y” descenders. Counters are fairly open for the weight, and the overall rhythm alternates between sturdy stems and fine connecting strokes, producing a crisp, engraved look. Numerals echo the same contrast and sharp finishing, with elegant curves and narrow internal spaces in figures like 8 and 9.

It performs best in headlines, decks, pull quotes, and other prominent typography where its contrast and crisp serifs can read cleanly. It also suits magazine and book-cover typography, and brand wordmarks seeking a classic, upscale voice—especially in print or high-resolution digital contexts.

The tone is elegant and authoritative, with a distinctly editorial, fashion-forward sharpness. High-contrast detailing and pointed terminals add drama and sophistication, giving the face a premium, classic feel suited to polished typography.

The design appears intended to deliver a refined, traditional serif voice with heightened contrast for impact, combining classic proportions with sharper, more fashion/editorial detailing to stand out in display settings while remaining typographically conventional.

In text, the strong contrast creates a striking black-and-white texture that rewards generous sizing and comfortable line spacing. The letterforms feel carefully balanced between traditional book serifs and a more display-oriented crispness, making headings appear particularly refined.
