A robust text serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation, firm vertical stress, and compact, bracketed serifs that flare into wedge-like terminals. The letterforms are broadly proportioned with ample interior counters and steady rhythm, giving the design a substantial, dark typographic color. Curves are full and controlled (notably in C, G, O, and Q), while joins and shoulders stay crisp and slightly calligraphic in their transitions. Numerals and capitals feel weighty and stable, with clear, traditional construction and consistent stroke contrast across the set.

Well-suited to book typography, long-form editorial pages, and other print-forward settings where a confident serif voice is needed. It can also carry strong headlines and section titles thanks to its sturdy weight and crisp contrast, while remaining appropriate for academic or institutional layouts.

The overall tone is confident and traditional, projecting an editorial seriousness associated with established print typography. Its strong presence reads as scholarly and dependable rather than decorative, with a subtle sense of heritage in the serif shaping and contrast.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif that balances readability with a firm, authoritative presence. Its broad proportions and bracketed serifs suggest a focus on durable editorial performance, providing strong typographic color and clear structure across mixed-case text and numerals.

At display sizes the sharp beaks and tapered terminals become a defining detail, while in paragraph settings the heavy verticals create a dense, emphatic texture. The lowercase maintains a conventional, readable structure with sturdy stems and open bowls, supporting continuous reading without looking delicate.
