A robust serif with broad proportions and pronounced, smoothly bracketed serifs. Strokes are weighty and even, with moderate contrast and rounded joins that keep the texture calm rather than sharp. Counters are open and generously shaped, producing strong legibility and a dark, steady typographic color in text. The lowercase shows a traditional rhythm with softly swelling curves, a two-storey “g,” and sturdy verticals; numerals appear oldstyle with varied heights and descenders that integrate comfortably with running text.

Well suited to editorial design, book typography, and other text-forward layouts where a sturdy serif with a consistent, dark color is desirable. It can also carry short-display duties—section heads, pull quotes, and masthead-style titles—where its broad stance and confident serifs read clearly at larger sizes.

The overall tone feels traditional and literary, projecting confidence and authority without becoming austere. Its rounded detailing and ample curves add warmth, making it feel approachable while still firmly rooted in classic book typography.

The design appears intended as a dependable, conventional text serif with extra sturdiness and presence, prioritizing readability and a stable page texture while retaining traditional, bracketed serif detailing.

Serifs are substantial and stable, giving lines a grounded baseline and a cohesive paragraph texture. The italic is not shown; the sample emphasizes a strong roman suitable for dense settings and emphatic headlines alike.
