A slanted serif with strong thick–thin modulation and sharply defined, bracketed serifs that read as crisp wedges at display sizes. The forms are compact and energetic, with a noticeably calligraphic axis and pointed joins that give letters a taut, forward-driving rhythm. Counters are relatively tight in several lowercase forms, and terminals often finish with a firm, cut edge rather than a soft taper, reinforcing a dark, assertive texture. Figures follow the same italicized stress and high-contrast construction, with clear, conventional shapes suited to running text and titling.

Well suited to editorial typography such as magazine features, book and journal work, and pull quotes where an italic voice is needed. It also performs strongly for headlines and subheads that benefit from a classic serif tone with extra motion and contrast. In longer passages, it can serve as an expressive companion style for emphasis or dedicated italic-forward layouts.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, evoking book typography, newspapers, and classic publishing. Its pronounced slant and contrast add drama and momentum, giving it a persuasive, authoritative voice without becoming ornamental. The result feels refined and literary, with a slightly theatrical edge in larger settings.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif reading experience while elevating emphasis through a vigorous italic stance and pronounced contrast. It balances classical proportions with sharper, more assertive detailing to create an italic that can carry both text and display roles.

The italic construction is consistent across capitals, lowercase, and numerals, producing an even diagonal flow in words and lines. Spacing appears tuned for text, but the heavy strokes and sharp serifs create a distinctly dark color that becomes especially emphatic in headlines or short passages.
