A calligraphically inflected serif with sturdy, slightly flared strokes and softly bracketed serifs. Terminals are often wedge-like and uneven in a deliberate, hand-cut way, giving the outlines a subtly textured edge rather than a perfectly polished contour. The proportions feel traditional and comfortable, with generous counters and a slightly bouncy rhythm across words; curves are full and the joins show gentle modulation rather than rigid geometry. Uppercase forms read strong and compact, while lowercase maintains a readable, workmanlike structure with clear ascenders and rounded bowls.

Well suited to editorial and book typography where a traditional serif voice with added texture is desired. It also works effectively for packaging, labels, menus, and posters that benefit from a handcrafted or vintage tone, and for headlines that need weight and character without feeling ornamental.

The overall tone is informal and approachable, with a homespun, storybook character that suggests hand-printed signage or vintage book typography. Its mild irregularities add personality and warmth, creating a friendly, lightly rustic impression rather than a crisp corporate one.

The design appears aimed at delivering an old-style reading experience with visible hand influence—prioritizing warmth, texture, and a human rhythm over strict mechanical regularity. It balances familiar serif construction with intentionally roughened details to create a distinctive, personable color on the page.

In continuous text the dark color builds quickly, driven by firm verticals and robust serifs, while the uneven stroke endings keep the texture lively. The numerals and capitals carry the same carved, slightly rugged finish, helping headings and short emphatic lines feel cohesive with body copy.
